What SwipeOut Does

SwipeOut is a Chrome extension that helps you clean up your Google Photos library by swiping through photos — left to delete, right to keep. It runs entirely in your browser on photos.google.com.

Data We Collect

Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. This is used solely to authenticate you and manage your subscription.

Usage data: We store a session bookmark (the URL of the last photo you reviewed) so you can resume where you left off.

Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We store your Stripe customer ID to verify your purchase.

Diagnostic data: To find and fix bugs, the extension reports technical measurements when it runs. These are numbers and short labels only:

• Error messages and stack traces from SwipeOut's own code
• How many items you selected, how many were successfully processed, and how long it took
• Measurements of the Google Photos page layout, such as how tall the photo grid is and how many thumbnails have finished loading
• Which sort order and media type filter you chose, and whether a date range was set — but never the dates themselves
• The extension version

Photo URLs, filenames, image descriptions, dates and email addresses are stripped out before anything is sent, and again when it is received. If you would rather not send them at all, email ssutl.main@gmail.com and we will disable reporting for your account.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We never access, download, copy, or transmit your photos
• We do not read your Google Photos library contents
• We do not track your browsing history
• We do not use third-party analytics services or tracking pixels
• We do not record which photos you view, keep or delete
• We do not sell any data to third parties

How It Works Technically

SwipeOut operates as a content script on photos.google.com. It reads the photo thumbnails already visible on the page to display them in the swipe interface. When you confirm deletions, it interacts with the Google Photos UI to move items to trash — the same action as if you deleted them manually. Your photos never leave Google's servers.

Where Data Is Stored

Account and subscription data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted in the United States. Authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser via Chrome's extension storage API.

Data Retention

Your account data is retained while you have an active account. If you uninstall the extension or request deletion, we will remove your data from our servers within 30 days.

Diagnostic reports are deleted automatically after 90 days.

Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing ssutl.main@gmail.com.

Changes

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated via the extension or this page.
